Best Instagrammable Spots Around Nottingham
Are you glued to the ‘gram? If capturing those dream aesthetic moments is part of your daily routine, Nottingham is packed with places you’ll want on your grid. From iconic landmarks to the perfect matcha, these are the city’s must-snap spots and they’re all within easy reach of true student accommodation Nottingham.
Cafe Coco Tang
8 Byard Lane, NG1 2GJ
From the vibrant plates of food to the stunning interiors, pictures of this gorgeous Vietnamese cafe will make you the envy of your followers.
Step inside and you’re hit with a mix of industrial, traditional and Asian elements that give the cafe a really unique look: tropical plants in vintage planters, colourful 1950s reclaimed tiled floors, graffiti murals splashed across exposed brickwork and trees literally sprouting out of tables. Upstairs you’ll find the rooftop Saigon Garden, a hideaway filled with lush greenery, hand‑painted signs and (weather permitting!) that perfect light for your photos..
Food-wise, whether it’s a bowl of vegan curry, a Bánh Mì or their pistachio and rose cake, their fresh and colourful ingredients will instantly brighten up your grid. Don’t forget to order the coconut water with matcha cream for that quintessential shot.
Bromley House Library
Angel Row, NG1 6HL
Housed in a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse, this independent lending library delivers plenty of prime photo-ops that fit both the “looks good on the grid” and “did you know I’m an intellectual” briefs.
The showstopper is the spiral staircase at the centre of the building. But there are also a series of beautiful reading rooms with plaster ceilings, cornices, comfy chairs and window seats, offering the perfect places to read, reflect (and maybe take a lil’ picture for the ‘gram). It’s also home to one of only two walled gardens in the city and one of the last few surviving Meridian lines in England, so there’s plenty to document on your visit. If you’re not a member, you can book onto one of their regular tours.

Woolaton Hall and Deer Park
Wollaton Rd, Nottingham NG8 2AE
A 45-minute bus ride away from our true student accommodation Nottingham, lies Wollaton Hall, an Elizabethan country house. You’ll be glad that you made the trip once you set your eyes on the gorgeous building and its stunning environs. If you’re looking for that perfect winter shot, it’s got all the right ingredients. Whether it's the mist rolling over the gardens, bare branches silhouetted against a winter’s sunset, or the resident deer set in front of the backdrop of the Hall, this is the stuff of Insta dreams.
Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem
1 Brewhouse Yard, NG1 6AD
Built into Nottingham Castle’s walls (and connected to it via a network of manmade caves), a shot of this centuries-old pub will add some character to your grid. The classic photo is outside, beneath the sign proclaiming it as England’s oldest inn. Step inside and you’ll wander through a warren of rooms (of course, one is haunted). With stone arches, cave-like nooks and curiosities including suits of armour and grandfather clocks, you’re sure to find the perfect setup for a quirky photo or two.

The Lace Market
The area around Stoney Street, NG1 1LS
These grand redbrick warehouses were built in the 1800s, when the city was world-renowned for its production of intricate lace. Nowadays, they host a theatre, museum and a variety of bars, shops and restaurants. With its stunning architecture, industrial-era lamposts and wrought-iron gates, this protected heritage area offers up the ideal settings for some fabulous shots.
Hockley Arts Club
20a Carlton Street, NG1 1WN
Hunting for a spot that guarantees grid-worthy moments? Head to this gorgeous cocktail bar that’s a favourite among Nottingham locals. On the top floor, the Electric Garden, complete with blossom trees, twinkly lights and lanterns, is the perfect place to nail that vibrant night-time shot. Or if you prefer something a little moodier, the Blue Room downstairs features luxe leather seating, rich, dark flooring and soft lighting. Location sorted, you’re ready to pose up a storm, with an aesthetically pleasing cocktail in hand, of course.
